Has a new policy been implemented? I noticed all the threads for nearby events in Liverpool, Chester etc have been moved into the UK board. This is a real shame as there's a lot of crossover with Manchester events in this corner of the north-west and there doesn't seem to have been a problem posting on the Manchester board before.

It might have something to do with the new tag system that is being implemented. So that you can just search for Liverpool and find everything that's been tagged with Liverpool. Or then again it might not have anything at all to do with that and it's just that events belong on the events board?

What I say goes...

. . . in through one ear and out the other.

Ooh what tag system is that? I'm obviously out of the loop here.

This might help explain a bit of it. There are some more threads out there with a bit more info but not sure which ones they are. But I think the idea is that when you start a thread you can add tags to it so that people can search easier and that you can set up your own board sections so it includes the tags for things you like.

Y!*
I have just memo'd Admin about this having been contacted by a number of people this afternoon looking for the Liverpool munch thread(s). Seems absolute madness to move threads around like this when a regional board exists already, but hey, go figure.....

Yes but the tag system doesn't seem to be in place yet. I think they are being moved manually. Kinkdom 1 posts were moved some time ago.

I know a lot of people go to events right across the north so we are going to have to look at a number of boards, and hope the 'Events Dates' section is kept up to date.

The older I get the more I recall.........how little I knew when I knew it all.

Does this mean Sheffield, Leeds and Calderdale has *stopped* being plunked INTO Manchester?

Well, that's how I found out. Went to look for the thread on the Chester curry night only to find it had vanished and was left wondering if it had been deleted. Then I noticed the Liverpool threads had disappeared too so I realised they may have been moved. The problem is that since IC 2.0 was implemented, pretty much all the north-west events have been posted on the Manchester board so a lot of people are going to find it really hard to track info down.

If the Manchester board is going to be strictly Manchester only from now on, perhaps we should have a separate board for north-west? (and probably one for Yorkshire too)

The other problem is that the general UK events board is so fast-moving that threads get buried really fast - this is going to be detrimental for many events all the country if even more pressure is put on that board by shifting threads into it.

I personally think this is ridiculous, the Manchester board says "The scene in and around Manchester" is there a cut-off point of how far 'around' Manchester you have to be now?

Does the board only apply to Manchester and greater Manchester now? As Purvection said some of the smaller events in particular are quickly going to get buried in a UK wide board.

I guess that's the problem with city based boards - no one knows exactly how big an area is covered. But if events all went on the events board - with a location - well..... could work.

All very well.... but were does someone ask about fetish shops, accommodation or other subjects from Leeds or Liverpool.

I haven't got a plan....that way nothing can go wrong.

This is going to be controvertial but ...... without the Liverpool humourous threads and innocuous other munch threads ...... at times the Manchster Board could put people off the scene. The Liverpool Threads never broke down into the viciousness seen recently about Manchester issues. Not only that, the Manchester people and the Liverpool, Chester, Lancs people have merged through friendships made on and off scene. Anyway .... this tag thingummy, will it be electronic and can I have one attached to my ankle?
