Advice from the medics ?

Hi All,

I would like to try anal play but suffer from ulcerative colitis.

I have experimented with finger, small vibe, lubes etc. and it seems ok (if not a bit uncomfortable)at the time, however, afterwards it feels really bruised and quite tender, and it is often a bit painful on my next visit to the loo. Though shortly after, all tenderness seems to vanish.

Does anyone know if there are any health risks with this or is it just a matter of putting up with the discomfort ?

If it causes this much tenderness with a small object being inserted, how would I cope with the friction and size of anal sex ?

It's not something I want to go to the doctor about, and I can't find anything on the web connecting the two. I did send an email to the NHS helpline, but was told they didn't know and to go to the docs (very helpful) !

Any advice please ?

Choozy. x

As we discussed a while ago now, i asked my doctor. They couldn't see any reason not to, just advised taking things slowly. Then again i might say that as i am looking forward to getting up your arse. LMAO. Only kidding. That is what the doctor really told me. David. (Sir)

Try Aloe Vera juice twice a day for a month - first thing at morning and last thing at night. The Holland & Barrat own brand is very good as is the brand they sell in Boots but go for cranberry flavour as it is pretty yuck.

Hi,

UC and associated illnesses - Crohns etc - all leave you with a tendency to anal fissures and anal fistulas. The fistulas in particular can be very serious and can end up needing surgery. The tissue around your anus is weakened by UC and I think that too much stretching could result in other problems. If you want advice, try the NACC website - they have advisors on all sorts of topics - and are not phased by sexual issues regarding living with IBD.

Oh- and the advice about the Aloe Vera is right - I have Crohns and it has helped me to avoid attacks for a couple of years now.

Thanks for your advice everyone. Certainly food for thought.

Much Appreciated. Choozy. x

One day my ship will come in, and knowing my luck, I'll be at the airport !!
