.
My younger daughter flew to Kraków a few weeks ago for, mainly, a social event organised by her partner's firm.
She texted my ex as they circled Kraków airport for the sixth time after attempting to land then going up again (they were told that conditions on the ground weren't good for landing (as far as she could see nothing seemed extra-ordinary)) before then flying on to Warsaw and a 6 hour bus journey to their destination.
She recently emailed the organisers to complain about what had been a worrying flight attempting to land and received an email back saying that the 2 pilots on board the plane hadn't had the experience to land at Kraków !!!
Oh how things have changed since Polish pilots flew for the RAF in WWII (unless the good ones are now flying for Western airlines)
Whilst in Kraków my daughter took the opportunity to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau . Many a lump rose in her throat there.
The thing that most affected her - midst the piles of shoes, cases, glasses, gold extracted teeth, hair of the victims of the German Nazis were, amongst the piles of hair shaved off before entering the gas chambers, children's pigtails still encircled by fading ribbons.
