Just thought I'd post an update, for my own benefit really.
Now on day 4, and these 4 days have been utter hell...LOL.
I got it wrong before, its actually 450 calories a day, not 750 as I originally thought. DOH!!
Anyway, been through the headaches, the nausea, and the weakness and I've come through the other end. I think my body has now kicked into ketosis because I no longer feel hungry. Yes i have cravings, like you wouldn't believe, but i'm not actually hungry.
Then tonight the shakes started, my whole body just shaking uncontrollably, and that scared me to be honest, I don't remember that happening last time. But, I have to stay strong. I can do this, I know I can.
And I know that some of you reading this will be thinking that i'm being stupid. I've had the "cut down on portions" and the "use smaller plates" comments and whilst i know they are said with the best of intentions, they are also said with ignorance.
What works for you may not work for me. I'm 41, i've struggled with my weight since as long as i can remember, i've done all the "conventional" diets. I've reduced portion sizes and used smaller plates, it doesn't work, not for me.
I have no willpower over food, its that simple really. I love to eat and i use food as a crutch. If i'm feeling down, i eat, if i'm happy, i eat. Its a vicious cycle.
So, Whatever you may think of this diet I ask you to respect my right to do it. If you can be supportive then even better, if you can't then please keep your opinions to yourself because i'm currently not strong enough to deal with your issues about it. I have my own issues thanks.
