The title to this post comes from a discussion article I wrote here. Rather than mess that post with a discussion of one point I thought it may be useful to clarify here. So here is the full paragraph....
'Being submissive' is a natural human flaw. Humans look to external sources for validation and to explain why the world is how it is. Far fewer humans seek to exert control over the world to achieve their own goals. Hence why there are far, far more subs than there are Dom/mes.
Clearly, this point extends beyond sexual submission or submission within the context of a D/s relationship. It simply adresses a human flaw which is to seek external validation and explain the world.
My point here relates to aspects such as religion - there are many who believe the nonsense that there is one God who is looking out for them. There are many who cannot understand why their life is so tough and many who think that the world is out to get them. These are examples of "being submissive" and I don't really intend to expand on all of these, they are simply illustrations to explain.
Clearly, in this context "being submissive" may be replaced by "being passive" or "looking for external forces to guide" and may have nothing at all to do with the beauty of a D/s relationship.
Much love to all (even syndee who chose to call me a true wanker for expressing an opinion on a discussion board).
