Ok, believe me if this seems weird to you then imagine how it is for me!!! LOL
I'm at my brothers and his life partner. They know i am "in the scene" but have never really delved into it with me.
Today they have asked my advice on where 2 gay men, who do not want any other partners, can go to learn more about "the scene" without feeling like total prats and complete novices. They are not sure what, if anything, they are into but want to explore and see for themselves. I have suggested that i take them to events but my brother feels this may be a bit too weird as i'm his kid sister.
They live in Blackpool and don't have transport so would need good public transport links.
Can anyone advise please?

I'm not sure what being gay has to do with it? If they want to learn techniques, or what's "out there", they can find out just as much from heterosexual people. Therefore the usual advice about munches/clubs/reading applies. judy

I think that the whole idea is to find like minded friends. They are gay, they enjoy gay company. They feel more comfortable learning from people much like themselves. Thats not to say they wouldn't go to mixed events, of course they would, but for this forage into the unknown they just feel more comfortable with other gay men.

Well there's IC, the Blackpool Munch, the Preston Munch and everything that's going on in Manchester. Munches should be ok to go to with a little sister, it's clubs where playing goes on that can be somewhat uncomfortable, but tend to be the places where family members seem to bump into each other. Ahh if they are looking for the gay kink scene then I don't have much idea. But I guess Manchester might be a good place to ask around. They do have the SM Dykes events, not sure about any male side to such activities though. What I say goes... Edited 9 Sep 08, 4:32 PM by MisterBear

There is a gay BDSM scene in Manchester separate from the straight one. They would get off to a good start by e-mailing the people at MUD in Manchester. They will know what is happening and whom to contact. Science, the only religion that works even if you don't believe in it.
