Hi my sub heather has expressed a interest in becoming a ponygirl. We have read a few threads on here about it looks very interesting so far What we need to know is the much of a scene in the midlands or is it just down south Is there a supplier of equipment at competitve prices in the uk just looking for equipment to get us started Thanks in advance Master of heather

I'm currently doing a similar thing. We just used the good exchange rate to get a good bridle from Subshop but many people start out getting hardware from tack shops and making simple harnesses from rope. The pony play clubs are apparently newbie friendly but we've not been to one yet. I am also quite sure that SirGuyM will be along shortly to advise also.

Have you tried contacting Trainer Bryan? He runs the north downs pony club, which is situated in Kent. He also makes all the equipment you need for your pony play. I hope this helps. Lady Raven x Edited 7 Sep 08, 9:51 PM by Lady_Raven

I recommend Graham at Affordable Leather for inexpensive harness: http://www.affordable-leather.co.uk/ Alan at Fantasy Leather for top-quality harness, which is perhaps only twice as expensive, but superb quality and value too: http://www.fantasyleather.co.uk/ There are pony-players wherever there are people. If you can find somewhere for us to come play in the Midlands, I'll bring a sulky and playmates. The only active venues at the moment are Bryan & Co. at the NDPC in North Kent, and the West Wales place I have been going to recently, both only a couple of hours away. I have used a couple of places in the midlands this year, but I am out of the game of organising any sizeable events myself for a while, for family reasons. Anyway until and unless people are able and willing to pay what it costs me to run an event properly, I am happy just attending the basic events elsewhere. Depending on what you want, with a bit of imagination it is possible to make all sorts of equipment from ropes to plumes to tails! Personally, I favour circus style jingly bells, feathers and pretty ribbons and its fairly easy to come up with some pleasing kit. www.marquis.de has some lovely bridles and www.fetishpony.com has some useful links. Think what you can do with a Black and Decker...

I like bells, and the ponies love them! I get my bells and ribbons from the haberdashery stall in my local covered market, (the Butter Market off High Town, Hereford). You can often get them from old-fashioned places like that, where you can see what you're getting before you buy, and also pet shops. I mount them using split rings and chain from the hardware stall, as used for key-rings, but smaller. My ponies, (particularly the older fillies and mares as it camouflages a tummy), really like a 'bell apron' I made. It is a chain around the waist with bells dangling on chains in front, with the longest chain central to the front, and getting shorter as they go to the sides. You can usually get ostrich plumes from the local joke and party shop: or get feather dusters almost anywhere and adapt them ... I am (unsurprisingly) a ponygirl, and moderately active in the midlands scene, and would likely be interested if something were to take place.

Well, I am taking a pony or two in order to help with a demo or workshop there on Sunday 28 September, at Kat's invitation. She can always withdraw that, but unless she does, I intend to be there with sulky, ponies and probably a puppy too ... I hope to be back there on 26 Oct. to help with a pet- and puppy-role-play session on 26 October with a puppy or three. yeah, i'll defo, double agree with that. following on from a day at the NDPC.. it was superb.
and carousel was pretty damn hawt too, although sometimes a slighty norty pony. A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.

This was also in my weblog but thought this a good place to add my comments.... Well, I finally made the trip to Kent to visit Trainer Bryan and his pony club. Having never done anything like this before I was very apprehensive, but by the time I had taken 2 steps out of the car I was greeted by Bryan and received a lovely "Hello, I love your boots!" from a very friendly Lady. The weather was wonderful and before long I was dressed, tacked and so began my day as "Dee the ponygirl". I wont go into full details about what I did, but I must say I had a absolutely brilliant day. Everyone was so friendly and I made a whole load of new friends for the future. I wont mention their names as I dont want to offend anyone I might forget!, but I just want to say to them THANK YOU ALL XX. Hopefully I will see alot of you guys and girls soon at a club or something. Finally a personal thank you to a certain young lady there who took me under her wing(!!)and has offered me a girly day out in the future!. You are an angel. Dee xx PS. Please people, use the NDPC in the future. Bryan deserves great credit for arranging the whole thing and deserves even more backing. |
