I was very chuffed to be asked to play by the organisers and although i know the music might not have been to everybodies tastes I did try and vary it a little (sorry about OMD...)
LOL! The OMD was sooooooo funny...and honestly, my little subbie & I soon regained our evil balance after laughing...well I did...which meant he had no choice! ;-)

A most excellent event and one I'll DEFINATELY attend regularly (although it will make me MUCH poorer as there's so much variety in the market place and some delicious items to own!).

Possibly the best comment I can make is this: Despite it being the launch night, it honestly did feel like it had been running for years. And I'm a fussy bitch about where I play etc - I refused to play at TG when I went earlier this year because of how poorly the play space was organised and left early in disgust. If Kinkdom were on for a whole weekend...I'd just bring more of my subs with me so I could play the WHOLE time.

AWESOME! Thanks to everyone for all their hard work and putting on a wonferful event....can't WAIT for next month!

Go on....flame Me....it'll feel like home!

It was a great day, a great event that we can all be proud of and I'd like to add my voice to those thanking the organisers for their sterling efforts.

Just for the record, there were some hiccoughs that cropped up, they were dealt with very quickly and effectively. No wonder people didn't notice!! :o)

Value for money? well the last time we went to BBB it cost us considerably more than £20 each and that was just for the fet fair! We left feeling not bothered about returning, whereas the atmosphere at Kinkdom was very much something we want to return to. And we very definately will do!

The munch? well not too surprising that the organisers were busy with other things. An event as good as Kinkdom doesn't happen by accident, it's down to the efforts of a very small band working very hard. After all, a munch is about everyone socialising, so why couldn't those people who had nothing more to do than enjoy it, speak to the new folk there?

The feel I got was that Kinkdom had been around for a while! Being that good for the first time, it promises a great deal for the future as the team iron out the few small wrinkles. I have a very positive feel for it.

I'm looking forward not only to the next Kinkdom, but many many more too!

New to BDSM, fetish clubs or public play? This may be just what you are looking for!

Well, for what it's worth, here's my reflections from yesterday... still feeling warm and fuzzy :)

As a trader who does fet fairs, and many other types of event, I have to say this was one of the most pleasant days I've ever had! I don't say that lightly.

Having a veritable army of helpers for unloading and loading my van turned what is usually an exhausting and stressful task into something that seemed altogether too easy...! And left me with energy to play hard, as well as work hard ;)

What struck me from the first moment was the attitude of everyone around... firstly with T&L and the crew, and then the guests as they started to arrive. Everyone seemed happy, positive, and friendly, and it was infectious! The organisation was amazing! Not just 'for a first' event... it was amazing full stop! (Try trading at Whitby Gothic Weekend - blimey. Running for years, and the traders still have to negotiate amongst themselves where the stalls are going to be!)

As a trader, it is of course, wonderful to get so much positive feedback on our products... it is why we do it! I only sell things I like, so it makes me feel very warm and fuzzy when others appreciate it :)

I agree the place was clean... amazingly so, compared to the BBB (which is nothing to do with BBB or organisers of course, who are fab!)... we often find ourselves sticking to the floor there!

It was mentioned before about the 'conversion' of the cloakroom girl in the art of caning - I had a moment like that at the end of the evening... one of the bar staff came to me, wanting to order a tutu - we had a long chat, and she told us that one of the other lads working there had clocked off earlier, saying he didn't want to clock off, because it wasn't like working, he was having too much fun!!! They'd all enjoyed it, and found it eye-opening but in a very pleasant way! I think the problem in future months will be finding bar staff - they'll all be attending as guests instead! ;)

Just my two-pence on the pricing... £15 for a full day event, which, from what I could see, had entertaining things happening throughout the day and then PLENTY of kit out for the evening, does not seem unreasonable to me. Given the amount of effort of organising, both in advance, and then the sheer bloody hard work on the day to make something like that happen, I really don't think asking £15 is excessive. As has been said, BBB plus afterparty is the same.

My one and only minor complaint was that it was really, really cold downstairs... the air con was on, which I guess is usually necessary for a dancefloor full of sweaty bodies. So I wonder if that's one reason the kit downstairs was not used as much as upstairs. And because everyone congregated upstairs, there weren't many dancers. Not sure what the answer is, but maybe we can think of a way of getting people to use all the spaces better in the coming months.

Oh, and to the DJ - really enjoyed the music... sorry you didn't get much feedback by way of people boogying ;)

Well... don't want to end on a sour note...

So I'll just say, with a launch like that, it really can only get better, although it's hard to see quite how... (maybe not having quite so many burgers left over ;) )

Can't wait for the next one!

See you all there! :) Woo hoo!!!

Oh no i dont see lack of dancing as a bad thing given the circumstances.

At the end of the day music is *not* why you're there, if you just want to dance there are plenty of clubs for that (but you might get frowned upon for giving someone a spanking).

At the end of the day you're really just trying to provide an upbeat back track for folk to enjoy themselves to, if people wanted to dance then it was really very much a bonus.

So dont feel bad on my part, the fact i could see folk tapping their feet or dancing on the spot in other areas while chatting gave me the impression i wasnt bombing terribly...

Should anyone fancy a similar sounding night out that is dancing based (and where you *wont* get frowned on for spanking someone...) you could always check out my club.

We've a school disco theme in Ocotber but sept 20th night is just alternative dress.

and swinging the flogger in time to the music!.

Your outfit looked great by the way..and there is no need to apologise for playing OMD... it was a good mix of music through the night.

Thank you very much.

i dont get much opportunity to wear that one normally as its incredibly hot and in non 'proper fetish ' environments the jodphurs are a tad excessive (and have a tendency to inflate while walking :) ).

Just wish i'd got a good photo of it last night, every other pic i have of me wearing it i look awful as i'm either pulling a funny face or its a t a silly angle.

Sir is a former club DJ and a current mobile DJ and thought the music was really good. Whilst not into the industrial/Goth music scene personally, either of us, we naturally have eclectic musical tastes anyway and so enjoyed what was played, including some of the 80's 'alternative'! Yes... and some great beats for Him to swing a flogger to - well done! ;)

Wow.

I don't think either of us have ever seen a response like this.

It's true that a lot of hard work went into organising the event.

It's true that the crew and staff worked like mad on the day.

Its true that the club management and staff deserve a round of applause too.

Despite the work of all these people, we only laid the foundations. What made it happen was YOU. The traders, the entertainers, and especially the people who came, supported, and enjoyed themselves so much.

We had four month's lead time on Kinkdom 1. We have just 4 weeks for Kinkdom 2.

Thank you all for the feedback, it's all welcome - we need it to make Kinkdom 2 better still!

Really very well-organised! Advanced tickets made it good value; easy parking, low bar prices and quality traders all help. The only thing that didn't score too highly was my meat-free burger :), but that's hardly a biggie - I'll go to the chinese downstairs next time!

Couldn't really work out why most people were upstairs in the evening - it got a bit hot up there, whereas downstairs was relatively empty and consequently a bit chilly - I had to keep going between the two! A few more seats would be good as well, if you can rustle them up from somewhere for next time.

Many thanks to everyone that made it happen.
