You ant me to read all the threads on IC? For some reason by 'puter does not allow C4 online but never mind It is on around lunch time today (sunday), however I did find it on catch up TV on Virgin. soooooo........ I was not that impressed with the first episode from a BDSM point of view, but then I doubt that we were going to see much flogging etc on the show...... The concept is interesting and will be fun to watch how the males will react about being told what to do. I loved the line about men do not like to be ordered to do things immediatly - tell them what you want them to do and wait for a few minutes and in the end they will do it but under their own steam with them thinking that it was their decision to do it in the first place !!!!
Totally loved that scouse guy !!!!!!

Well i watched the first episode earlier and thoroughly enjoyed it. Obviously it will take a few espisodes before the women get settled and start showing their full authority but i'm sure they will. I've set it to record the series so i can see the progress whenever i can. I'm keen to see how it will develop.

Channel 4 programmes are usually heavily scripted and not what they appear to be.I have not made up my mind on this one yet but will be watching for clues, they usually slip up. They ran one called "A place in France" a few years ago and the storyline was that these guys were preparing a guest house and only had a few days left before the visitors arrived "In July",we were told.In the background the trees had the first leaves of spring.

I'm happy to provide impartial referee services... "You say that my way of thinking cannot be tolerated? What of it? The man who alters his way of thinking to suit others is a fool. My way of thinking is the result of my reflections. It is part of my inner being, the way I am made." Marquis de Sade

There's nothing to say we can't make an alternative version, if we had the right producer on board, and a good lawyer to make sure we don't get sued for infringing copyright-- not a porn version, mind you, but one that shows what is possible when the right Women are in power, how they would use that power wisely and lovingly, without abusing it. The actual programme as it stands is hugely disappointing and not in the least bit entertaining. I'd rather watch Big Brother, and believe me, I am anything but a fan of that Big Brother! I can only imagine that the producers have given the Women and the men very different ideas of the programme's premise, have cast men who were arrogant and slightly misogynistic, and cast women who (mostly) had huge chips on their shoulders and very little respect for men. Drama is conflict after all, and without conflict, there would be no show, or so the producers were (are) probably thinking... As it stands, it does little to heal the rift between the sexes, plays on out-dated stereotypes (that obviously are still in existence, granted) and fuels the patriarchal view that women cannot rule because they are inately inferior to men and just need a drink or a good shag to put them back in their places (the kitchen, the bedroom). It's meant to be inflamatory. Put a bunch of clashing personalities with inflated egos into a situation where there is money to be won, point a camera on them and watch the sparks fly. (Watching those women posturing and shouting is actually very embarrassing!) Such potential, lost, wasted!! And watching the conflict within the Female Court is interesting, but quite saddening. I agree that a man presenting the show, shouting for the Queen to come out and decide the fate of the men up for sacrifice -- poor puppet Queen that she is -- is a very jarring presence. For so many reasons, I don't think I will be tuning in again... Perhaps we should direct the show's producers to this thread for inspiration for future shows, if it is going to run for another season ala Big Brother, or indeed, we can raise the funds among ourselves to do a true D/s version? Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to Women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

I wish the men weren't such whiny idiots. They can't even be the slightest bit subservient without throwing all their toys out of the pram.
Wimps! Put me on that island and I'd be in my element But the women are a bit disappointing too. It didn't take them long to agree to some of the men's demands and soften up a bit. I like Desreen and Karen best. They both know how to be tough and they're both sexy. I love to grovel

Caught a bit of the programme and was appalled by the females. If that is what being in charge is like, then I am ashamed I was ever a Domme. Where is the imagination, where is the respect and more importantly... what is the point of this show? !!! I think some network executive with submissive tendencies (or actual sub record) came up with the idea for this programme banking on the D/s community being glued on their tellies thus earning the channel lots of revenue from advertising. I think it was a bad idea. I won't bother to follow this programme - it is just annoying.
