When the mothers and fathers of East Manchester sigh a sigh of sighs, as they pack their little loved ones off on their first day back at school.
Personally, I do not have any children of school age these days, but I do live with one. And as much as I love him, my heart is engulfed with joy when I think of the peace and quiet that is going to fill my house today, instead of the constant blare of children's television programs I've been subjected to for the last six weeks.
I am aware though that my daughter, the mother of said child, is just beginning to realise that this is the first day she has had to herself in a long time; And that there is a 50/50 chance that she will at any moment celebrate the fact by having a go on her decks, but it's not happened yet ![]()
So come on peeps, shed that p/maternal guilt (it's allowed, 'onest) and enjoy your happy day…
C'mon and clap your hands (Oh happy day!)
Jump up an shake yer bum (oh lykkelig dag!)
Now you're not dad or mum (Oh feliz día!)
It's time to have some fun (Oh happy day!)
Just listen to the nun (Oh happy day!)
C'mon and feel the love (Oh happy day!)
