It's a year since Rod decamped me from Camden and moved me in to banjo country 
This morning, as I was enjoying feeding a little family of ducks who were bobbing along the brook at the bottom of the garden, I was lucky enough to see a kingfisher swoop along the surface of the water.
We've got bats and squirrels in the willow tree, a nest of yellow tits in the pine tree and hedgehogs truffling around fairly randomly in the evenings, as well as visits from the occasional field mouse, owls and foxes.
Between us, we've mostly redecorated, although still some to go, and some needs redoing already, LOL. Tons of work done to make the place somewhere we're content and comfortable and love inviting friends round to eat, drink and be merry 
Himself moved in about seven months ago, and he mostly does the outside work. He enjoys the manly stuff, but he cooks bloody well too
We find things to add to our home at boot fairs and charity shops and on Freecycle. It's getting there, although it'll never be perfect - it's not meant to be. It's a loving, happy home, not everybody's cup o' tea, but just right for us.
I still don't like commuting, but I'll do it in exchange for a good salary and decent standard of living *shrug*

How can you say it will never be perfect? You've got a PINK ROOM - the very definition of perfect!
Of course, there's the matter of the chandelier thingies that need changing around...
It's a beautiful home, with beautiful people living in it.
