No, not the cracking Solondz vehicle, but the state of mind. I'm generally a happy sort, more often to be found smiling that frowning and all that, Pollyanna but without the ability to turn you diabetic.
There are those rare, preciously rare moments when someone makes you happy without even trying, or even think they may do the opposite. Not a bunch of flowers, or a thoughtful email, or dinner, or a million other things that seem to be an automatic ticket to a happy place.
I won't go into details, but today V showed a side to himself that I knew was there, but he rarely revealed. 10 minutes of tears, a lung-crushing hug in the kitchen and, even after all this time, a little reminder of why I fell for him.
He's out now with t'lads, probably being a whole different person (beer-swillin', joke-crackin', lady-respectin' type), and we've got two pretty impressive days ahead of us.
I may not have two pennies to rub together at present, I may want to take a running jump off the nearest building due to the situation at work, but I'm the happiest I've been in a long time. We're going on holiday soon, and I have a feeling a week of sand, sun (I'm aiming for bronzed goddess, I feel it may be more orangey duchess) and the odd Malibu and Coke (class) may just be what the doctor ordered for both of us.
