(whadda ya mean I havent posted for ages?????)
Today is the glorious twelfth. When I was young (11) I used to carry the guns for well to do folk who went out shooting Grouse.
I never made it to beater as I discovered girls and BDSM, but I always enjoyed a days shooting and also the small birds that were given to the gun carriers. My Granddad would then hang it for me and I would have grouse for tea.
Hanging involves literally hanging a bird in the shed until the maggots get to it. Once the skin is crawling the bird is ready, they make the tough flesh tender. You then clean it and cook it. Tastes gorgeous.
A year ago I shot with a 12Bore again and discovered that the aim was a little out but after a couple of chambers it was back again.
I want to take Mini-me for a shoot but Hunny wont allow it 
and I thought I was in charge

Ive just got up and its been raining so hard.
Im well south of the border here, and if its raining anywhere near as hard up on the moors then the birds wont be flying far today. On the other hand, the rain always comes up on a tide so get out there and pick up some bass or sewin | |

Cant beat a good shoot, happy 12th, we only have a few months left to wait and our youngest can start at the gun club, we can all go then, cant wait.
Mind you not that I am any good! Which is why I don't go out at night with Hubby, to many sheep in the way…….. | |

I know - that happens with the cheese in my 'fridge, too. Today may be the Glorious Twelfth, but tomorrow is the Totally Splendid Thirteenth - my second birthday of the year.
You may, if you wish, celebrate it by discharging firearms - but please do so in the direction of thieves and ne'er-do-wells, rather than at sentient beings
