Those who know me well, will know that I've decided to punish myself, by moving all the way over to Moscow to live and work. From my previous visits to Moscow, I understood that there is virtually no BDSM scene in Moscow.
On Friday, I stumbled across a complex and hidden BDSM forum with users from all over Russia and CIS countries. I put a post (written in Russian) asking for help, as a newbie to the BDSM world in Russia.
One kind, dominant lady wrote this to me in English. Perhaps I should put my dreams of combining D/s and Moscow on hold. Hopefully, I can find a lovely girlfriend to convert into a domme 
Official take on BDSM... Virtually, it doesn't exist. This type of relationship is most often considered quite as bad as being homosexual, I mean it's common in Russia to have very aggressive attitude towards what doesn't seem traditional. Most people don't know what the abbreviation means. Those who do know something about it, tend to think it's too freaky to try But it's not illegal, either, unless the sub is seriously injured and willing to go to court to prove it. I know there are some meetings, where BDSM lovers can for example observe practices of shibari and have a nice chat. But these are rare. And I personally never attended to them, because those are half-open events and I never made it clear to my friends and relatives what my sexual desires are about But there is a cafe just near my house, which is designed to be a BDSM cafe. But it's under construction just yet. What I mean to say, there are a number of BDSM related people in Russia, but I think they are more reserved and less likely to include other BDSM lovers into their midst than in more liberal European contries. |
