After waking at such a ridiculous early hour that we woke up the cat, we made our way to Conway Hall for 8.45 (ish). In the end, it was a 25 minute 'ish', but no one seemed to mind. Altheus makes a fine packhorse, I'm very good at holding his bag (I'm very useful to have in any situation, no one can hold a bag like me).
Conway Hall is a noble building, situated at the corner of one of those lovely London green squares. 'To thine own self be true' was emblazoned above the stage - which I felt was rather appropriate. It's a wonderful twisting building with little staircases that seem to go on forever, as Merrynb99 will testify as I collapsed in a sweaty, wheezing heap in the cloakroom.
I made only one workshop, with the legend who is John Pendal. The £5 Dungeon it was called and it was wonderful for those little ideas that can add so much. Mr Pendal is entirely correct when he said that (and I'm paraphrasing here) our kink is formed by others. I was his impromptu Demo Bunny having my hand bound in vet wrap. Loved it, ordered some from Ebay the moment I got home. Oh, and I had the fun of ripping a length of duct tape of his back (grin).
I wish I'd been able to see Master Laurence's workshop but I was press ganged by Jenis (which was entirely lovely). If anyone has the notes, I'd be terribly grateful.
The fashion show was stunning. MissP wiggling her stuff and the 'Two Ladies' were the highlights. Rosie Lugosi, the lesbian vampire queen, was sensational throughout - especially her virgin sacrifice (ooo, the blood!)
We've ordered a paddle from QD with the word 'wife' jigsawed into it. I bought 'The Marketplace' and 'Carrie's Story' from CCK and a rubber paddle, a Dragon Tongue (eek!) and a deceptively evil tawse which will come in useful when next we visit a National Trust property...which is entirely another story.
I've been away from the scene for a while. I'd forgotten how welcoming and friendly it is.
To DK, and the rest of the Leather Family, I salute you. It was a wonderful day.

To the above comments can I just add a whopping great thanks from myself that you were both such willing volunteers! It really is the volunteers that can make the event happen, and as with all of those who made it there on the day you both did so much more than you originally signed up for. Very glad you enjoyed the day as well, and hopefully we'll see your names on the list again for next year? *grins*

i loved the rope workshop, and joined in tying up a friend of mine which was fun, good atmosphere, if not a little too hot in some areas,, |
