That's how I've just spent the last 45 minutes or so.
While I'd like to paint a picture of depravity and the like, sadly the truth is a million miles away.
Today is my last day down in Nottingham before I head home for the summer, admittedly doing so a month later than everyone else due to family annoyances, so that means the wonderful combo of packing/tidying. Part of this includes a full going over of my little en-suite shower/toilet thing.
Now, it's all well and good having those, and I'd much rather do that than have to share with a bunch of 18yr olds all year, but there's a slight problem... The shower overflows onto the floor... The floor then doesn't drain fully, leaving some surface water... This surface water then transports every single bit of dirt from shoes and things onto the tiles, and the only way to get rid of it is scrub and scrub and scrub.
So that's the scrubbing explained, and the kneeling is probably obvious, what with the floor being low and all. The most efficient way to clean it? Have the shower running, thus flooding the whole room, and use surface cleaner on the cloth itself. This involves getting completely soaked, so a lack of clothes is just practical really, otherwise I'd have just climbed out of there looking like I'd stood under a waterfall for half an hour.
Still, it's all clean now, so it was all obviously necessary... Or at least that's my excuse for it all anyway ![]()
