Had a go reciently about athiests, so I thought I'd nail some of my colours to the mast.

I believe in truths. I'm not talking about "It was me, I chopped down the cherry tree" type truths, I mean truths about the way the world works, about how people are.

I believe you can finds truths everywhere so long as your looking for them, From the Bible to the Beano comic from great literature to weblogs.

I look for them so I can say "now, I understand" and although I'll never understand it all or see the greater picture, in my little corner, I understand something.

You can't condemn the truths in the bible because there's other things in it you don't like, you see a truth and you hold it to be a truth Who can really argue with "Let he who has never sinned cast the first stone"?. The bits I think arn't pertinant I throw away. I can do that because I'm not a christian, I'm just looking for truth.

I would call that wisdom, but I suppose you could say that is just spliting hairs.
