Having spent the morning flat/house hunting, I was left rather puzzled.
I thought it was the credit crunch affecting people finances that was the issue with the property market.
What I discovered is that going by what I have seen so far, mainly new build flats, the issue is really what crunch the devolopers have put on space.
I viewed a two bed flat today, and to be honest it was impossible to know which box room was meant to be the double bed room. You couldn't swing a hamster in either of them, let alone a cat, a flogger or a whip.
The lounge seemed a good size until you mentally pictured where you would put even the basic furniture.
Guess the search continues.

When it comes to househunting at the moment it is worthwhile looking at stuff listed above your price range and making a silly offer.
We are at the stage where sellers see what their house would have gone for last year and think it is worth that now. Buyers see what something will be worth next year and think that is what it is worth now. There are always people who have to sell, their property is setting the market price at the moment.
PropertySnake gives you an idea of how the market is going in your area at the moment. NetHousePrices tells you what the recent past is like. Science, the only religion that works even if you don't believe in it.
Collectively the crowd is correct. Individually they are inaccurate.

oh! we had that problem when searching for somewhere to live and we only just fit in this 3 bed house...lol
most modern flats are so small, and the converted ones are just as bad..
some you can just get a bed in no cupboards or wardrobes.
we found an older property and it suits us very well.
happy searching
