Neddle play is not allowed at Subversion, as a condition of the venue's risk assessment, which felt that there could be issues with blood... Not our decision, but one we respect. Club Subversion Crossing the Rubicon FleursduMal bobette's MySpace Beginners Guide to BDSM[/ur

Haven't seen anyone do this at a club yet, although I've often thought there must be a way/ways to do it safely (with a non-slip knot I suppose?) I have to admit, it's an all-time favorite among my fantasies!

Well I can only speak as the piercer, not the piercee, but how much 'pain' my boy experiences varies due to where on the body, how aroused he already is and mood. Mood/emotion seem to make the largest difference in how hurty it is... Also I've observed people experience the 'pain' differently. Some people seem to take it as an endurance, others respond to the physicality of the pain and then there are those who are aroused and 'sensualised' by it... each reaction and experience of needle pain seems unique... as it should be!! *G* PGK x The Domme formally known as PinkGlitterKitty... she evolved and got less fluffy GRRRRRR

It depends if 'needle' play is being done for a pretty picture type ilk or to push some boundaries and stimulate nerves, flesh, skin etc. it doesnt have to hurt at all... its a piece of string question.. it depends on the skin, your emotional state, your body temperature, the location of entry, how many needles, the size, etc. It can hurt a lot if you hit nerve bundles or that is indeed the plan. I dont bat an eyelid at needles on my back - in fact I find it quite theraputic and calming, my legs it fucking hurts (so I dont do it!) I'm happy to stick them anyhwere on someone else though!

As mentioned, this really does depend from person to person, state of mind, where placed and size of needles. Generally, the thicker the needle, the more it will hurt. I tend to use 23g or 25g for larger pieces of needle work. I've also found that the backs of the legs and lower back are fairly tender. If someone is particularly sensitive to the pain, I usually talk them through quite a bit. I pinch the piece of skin to be pierced quite hard so that they get used to the different sensation there. I then count down from 3 to 1 and get them to blow out hard as I pierce. 9 times out of 10, they're usually quite surprised at how little they felt. Regards, Pierced Knight.

Indeed - a simple post tie is fine, and you can make the noose big enough to slip over the head, for extra safety points, and only ever hand hold the rope, it's well edgey but very easy to have complete control, been doing it for years. It is, however, the fast way to get the safety police irate, with the mantra 'never put a rope round anyone's neck', though they don't bat an eyelid at people in locking collars and leashes you couldn't cut through with safety scissors in a month of sundays. The way I do it, the rope is to hand at all times, quick release isn't any more than letting go, and their feet never leave the ground of course!! It's just for the edge. Having said that, we did do a picture of this, to deliberately expose the silliness of the new violent porn act, and I took it down again just in case some twonker tried to copy it without knowing their shit. Ironic, really. So, I guess I'd better put in the standard 'Don't try this at home, children' rider.

In my experience resheathing is only really a risk to the person doing the resheathing. I no longer do it after accidentally sticking myself by seathing a 1" needle into a 3/4" seath. Sounds dumb, but over many years occassionally one screws up. Not a bad injury, but the necessary blood tests etc. that followed weren't so nice. But as I said, it's really only yourself you put at risk, and not such a big risk if you are both tested etc. I guess it all comes down to being informed of that risk - hence I would never *advise* resheathing (it also fills up you sharps container much faster), but I do take Pierced_Knights point, as a personal decision.

Others have already answered, and I concur... the very unhelpful answer is indeed dependent on where, how it's done and who you are - even your mood... But I think it's worth remembering that hypo needles are *designed* to pierce with minimal discomfort - that's the whole point of them, so as a starting point needle play can be completely painless if required. I find that gets boring pretty quickly though, and it's not really very hard to make it hurt if you want to LOL

Ta, that's kinda what I figured. I used to take my own blood happily enough at Uni, so shall summons up some courage and let May do Her needles thing sometime. Eeek! |
