On the back of a motorbike last night mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, fear, excitement, fear and real genuine fear as well because if you fall of this beast you will almost certainly need skin grafts! I would definately say that if i was offered the choice, if i had to choose between bdsm as foreplay or a ride on a motorbike i would pick the motorbike...
I want one, i want one, i want one...i'm going to get one and feel that fear and excitement much more frequently. It also feels far more freeing than a car, i dont' know why?
And think of the leathers i can wear, the boots ahhhhhhhhh yes, a motorbike is the way forward!
So, within two years i have decided that i will have a motorbike...ive thought about it in the past and all my friends say i would be crazy, what a risk...but, what a way to go if it happened
. I think that it is worth the risk for the thrill.

You go girl I had my first ever ride on a motor bike a couple of months ago and it was such an adrenalin rush. Put that together with the leather jacket and gloves and it was a double dose of adrenalin. It was so windy the day we went out but it dint put me of one bit. Going around corners was amazing and leaning into him as he accelerated was such a good feeling.
The same guy has now bought a more powerful machine so I wait with bated breath for him to take me on his new toy

You only need skin grafts if you are not wearing the right clothing. If its going to be a habit then get thee to ebay! Sweetiejar

Nooooooo. Not ebay! Get the to a proper real brick type shop. Pick a helmet and clothing that are comfortable and offer maximum protection and cost at least 50% more than you can actually afford (even if its only occasional rather than a habit). Remember your life could depend on them. It could be argued that the basic clothing is the same regardless, but from one who knows the best leathers in the world can actually create a nasty spill and leave gravel rash if they do not fit properly. Being uncomfortable is not conductive to good road safety, and gravel will find that gap as you slide along the road having tried adjusting a garment as you ride. As for helmets, anyone who buys one without trying it on needs their head looking at imho. It's easy to tell the difference between right and wrong. What's hard is choosing the wrong that's more right.

Perhaps what I should have said was, go to a shop, find what fits then look for it on ebay for half the price. Sweetiejar

I used to ride, as did my husband (until one crash too many) and it's an amazing feeling - the raw power, the bike responding directly to your movement and the freedom.... Just keep covered in leather and you'll just bounce off the road as you hit it and not loose your skin, learn a little about how to fall right to reduce broken bones, and always buy a brand new helmet, never second hand, from a shop and have it fitted - it should be tight enough to squeeze your cheeks in and not be able to turn on your head at all. Even if it is dropped from 3 foot up it should be replaced. Lastly for all the fun and sheer adredolin rush of a bike remember you will fall off the thing, every biker does and it's just a fact. Treat every car on the road like it's trying to kill you because most accidents aren't caused by the biker they are caused by other vehicle drivers who 'didn't see you' as I myself have found out and my husband has been hit by about 3 cars on his bike in less than 2 years - the last crash was doing 50mph and totalled his bike and could have very easily killed him. He took it as a final warning and gave up knowing he would die if he got back on.
Practice well and ride safe! I hope you are one of those lucky people that ride for life without major mishap. I rode for over a year without more than a couple of bruises from learner falls though a car did hit me once as well (pulled out of a garage into me "didn't see me") it was low speed and he damaged his car more than me Miss Kitty

The biking community is superb. You'll make many friends. I've been to the TT a couple of times and it's by far the best holiday I've ever had. So many great memories. Spend as much as you can afford on leathers and helmet. Sounds like a cliche but it really can be the difference between life and death.
