Strange names (or whats in a name)? (2)

I remember some strange names of fellow pupils when I was at school and was wondering if any of you have similar tales to tell?
There was this new boy who joined the school his surname was Kerr, and his parents named him Wayne. You can imagine the hillarity that filled the classroom every time the teacher called him.
Another lad's surname was Glasscock, you could always see when he was coming.
Then there was the time when 6 lads in my class were late back after lunch, they turned up in 10 minute intervals and when questioned by the teacher, as to why they were late, they each replied they had been up Sandy Lane. No one thought anything of it as one of the country lanes indeed was called Sandy Lane. Approximately 10 minutes after the last lad arrived, in came a girl who was also late, and did not belong in our class. The teacher enquired as to her name, to which she replied Sandy Lane.

Gaylord!
The worst possible name you could give a boy!
OK back in the days of the dinosaurs it wouldn't have raised even an eyebrow being called out across a room, but in the 80's, in a club full of teenagers......Awful, just awful! If you are willing to look at another person's behaviour towards you as a reflection of the state of their relationship with themselves rather than as a statement about your value as a person, then you will, over a period of time, cease to react to them
