I had the usually busy day today, rushing about here and there, safe in the knowlege that always in the background, even though seperated by thousands of miles and an eight hour time difference, there was that someone special.
Someone who makes the time and effort to chat on the phone, to email, to send offline messages, texts, any form of comunication they can, to tell me in their own special way they care. Ok the carrier pidgoen crashed mid atlantic, but they were not desingned to fly that far.
She speaks to me on average twice a day, for a few hours, which when you consider the aforementioned time difference, is good going. Is this a loving, caring relationship? Maybe its still to early to know, but there is something there, something very special indeed.
On the way home from work I got another text, she made me smile. I arrived home and there in the post was a card. It had the postmark I knew so well. It was from her.
On the front of it, it said "I thought about you today"
And inside it went on to say "...and I liked it so much I'm going to do it again tomorrow"
It also had the following personal message which read.....
"The waiting is nearly over.
It has seemed like a lifetime since I have known you"
Then it was signed. Signed by that special lady, who I am proud to have in my life.
You see, when I joined IC I viewed the ads, like most of us have done I guess. There was this one ad that simply said "looking for my last partner" Clever really, because most of us hope the next relationship is the one we will see to our dying days. Her name simply said "Claimme"
Its early days still, but the way things are going she has claimed me and hopefully vice, versa.
Thanks for the card, it cheered this guy up no end.
