I started doing Tai Chi in the morning after I get up - I need something to get me going in the morning - but seeing that it can be rather complicated I might well start going to Tai Chi classes - there are so many around, amazing! Must be really popular.

Anybody doing it on here? I know it's seen as an old-people's sport, but I don't care about that... hehe

thank you :)

some of the moves were known to me before as I did Hap Ki Do when I was a student, but it's not easy to do them all together lol It's easier in a group too, I guess.

I did it years ago when it was offered by the company I worked for to relieve stress. Problem was the person who was causing the stress (managing director) didn't bother to take part LOL I did notice that they do have classes in my local leisure centre and now that you have mentioned it its got me thinking ......

I did Tai Chi a few years ago for about a year and have to say I have never felt so healthy in my life! My thighs were so toned and strong and I had very few aches and pains or colds etc.

Emotionally and mentally I was very strong too. It was an overall feeling of calm and knowing my body inside out if that makes sense.

I used to attend weekly classes and do it at home or out in the countryside which was the best. There were some older people there but all ages.

You can go on to do it with swords too. There are different varieties.

I really loved it and am going to do it again when I find a good class.

If you google Tai Chi Finder it'll lead you to a website where you can look for local Tai Chi classes (I found about 5 in my area)

I have the same problem, we're going to move in a few months time, although only a few tube stations up - I'm eyeing up the Wimbledon Tai Chi course, which would be perfect for after work for me *G*

I did it for a while ,but there were no local classes near me , so went with some friends.

It was good and I did enjoy it, however the 'forms' took ages to learn , and although it was a few years before that I used to do another Chinese based martial art ( no I'm not a ninja or the Henry the mild mannered janitor , with a stripey cat called spot..) , and was learning 1st & 2nd degree Black belt malarcky , it made the Ti Chi seem incredibly slow.

There are millions of chinese every day who do that during their offical break times...different to the Brits drinking Tea I suppose.

So Yes I'd learn it again if there was a local class , nad if I could learn to slow it all down to how they do that. D

yes, I wasn't used to the slowness at all - I did Hap Ki Do as a student - but I like that it's so relaxing :-D
