Ok so you say "another rant". Well not exactly, just reading another blog on here, and it reminded me of a few things that have changed since I was younger.
Years ago:
People could say what they thought without causing offence.
People had free time.
People had time for eachother.
People did not have to self assess at work, so the managers don't have such a high work load.
Pay rises were in line with inflation.
Prison sentences actually acted like a deterrant.
Life was slower.
Life seemed easier.
People had values, nowadays those of us that do are a rare commodity.
Houses were affordable.
Petrol was affordable.
Groceries were cheap.
Cigarettes and booze were cheap.
Ok we did not have the internet, and the chance to meet like minded people, who otherwise may lurk in the closet so to speak.
We didn't know about internet dating etc.
So its not all bad.
Mike.

Except for "Groceries were cheap", I think that this is largely true. I also think though that although it being "swings and roundabouts", life is generally better now.
Gary. Everyone who lives dies, but not everyone who dies has truly lived.
When you're tired of The Birmingham Bizarre Bazaar you're tired of life!
