As for getting into character, I don't feel any more feminine but it does free me up to reveal my exhibitionist side and enables me to be as sluttish as I can be. And it also seems to give me the freedom to submit more fully. Perhaps it's the element of disguise, so I can pretend it's not really me doing/having done to me these pervy things.

Could it be said that it gives you the freedom to be who you really are, a bit like dutch courage, in a sense?

When I put on women's clothes, my character changes and becomes more submissive. I feel quite different from when I'm in my male persona. It's not acting, it's a natural tendency towards femininity that's unlocked by wearing women's clothes. It's not role play, it's a naturally changing character as a result of wearing women's clothes. We did call it 'forced feminisation' in the beginning but actually there's bugger all that's 'forced' about it.

ps. albert thinks that 98% of men will gladly wear women's clothes if circumstances permit.

Is it feminine to be submissive?

I am not a crossdresser but I feel any fetish gear is a extension of the person character. Sub121 wear lycia catsuit while Paul wears villna cloths. Both have a caring nature and sensitive.

I agree.

Sub121 is a darling. and So is Paul.

I definitely find what I am wearing affects my behaviour - or I dress for how I am feeling. Sometimes I feel like a merciless leather mistress, so I dress accordingly. Sometimes I feel frivolous and OTT so I dress like a sissy and I am Queen Dennis. I'm just Dennis all the time really, but I feel more dennisy when I'm glammed up and wearing massive platform shoes. I don't really see them as different people, although sometimes refer to them as if they are because it's easy shorthand.

The point I getting at is also based on a conversion with a TV at Selecta. The T.V version is just the female side of the person. The opposite side of the coin so to speak. I felt I related to what was said "a costume is just a extension of the person".

I think with my experience of talking to a few cross dressers I know is that there are several reasons a person enjoys cross dressing which includes 'slipping' into another persona. I guess its like many other things there are always avenues and alleyways to explore; people only stop looking when they come to their address.

I feel by 'changing' into crysta I am relieving myself of the having to be the stereotypical male breadwinner / hunter gatherer.

I can release the tension of existing, to being the person I aspire to be. It is not acting just the ability not to follow perceived acceptable behaviour as a man.

Maybe I am weak for following social rules and not being honest with myself, but this is my honest feeling on the matter.

I agree with several of the themes here.

I started secretly crossdressing as a teenager, primarily as a result of one of my other fets (wam/sploshing) where it just doesn't work for me unless I'm wearing close-fitting lycra. I didn't have a g/f and couldn't see any prospect of getting one (as girls just tended to point and laugh on street corners as I was tall and exceptionally thin and gawky in those days (more than I am now anyway! :-) ) so I figured that the best way to enjoy myself was to create my 'ideal g/f' that I could see in the mirror, especially when she would welcome being sploshed - an even more unlikely event in the days pre-internet, when we each thought that we must be the only one into such weirdness.

It started with multiple pairs of tights (which I love to fill up with creamy sloppy clay) but gradually grew from there over many years until I now have a complete wardrobe and often dress at home or at close friends, not just for sploshing.

I do find that, when in drab, I just don't 'feel sexy' whereas in drag, it sort of 'gives me permission' to feel sexy. (Blokes' clothes are just so dull aren't they?) I also find I quite often tend towards being very slutty/tarty, with lots of clingy lycra hugging everything and that tends to lead to quite a lot of exhibitionism too (or at least it would if there was anyone else around to see it, LoL). This is quite the opposite of my normal persona. I do love the feel of the clothes too - they react totally differently to blokes' clothes, being soft, smooth, silky, clingy etc and that can be incredibly sensuous and erotic in itself (especially when clinging and gliding all round your bits!)

So there you are - now you know! It looks like I've got a number of reasons for dressing, which I suspect will be the case for many.

When I dress, it really is the complete opposite of my normal look. Which is to say, I go from being covered in grime, soot, grease and grit, smelling of ...who knows what, to being smooth, silky, covered in frothy lace, and smelling of roses (literally and figuratively!). I feel the "two sides of the same coin" opinion above is fairly near the mark, at least in my case.

Dani.

As one or two of you already know I have an interest in cross dressing and what is called forced feminization. I want to learn more about it from the cross dressers/submissives point of view.

I wonder if in one sense cross dressing is like acting, where you put on certain clothes and you 'fall' into character, or rather that that persona takes over from the usual one? Are they like two separate people male and female or is it just one persona for both? If they are different what differences are there, is one more out going or more dominant than the other. Also for those who are forced into getting women's' clothes, do you find your character changes or is it the same?

bah and there was me from the post title thinking ideas like Little Red Riding Hood were going to be banded about

I find that there are aspects of my character that I surpress normally that come to the fore when I'm dressed. I'm really just a female version of me though - not like a totally different person but not my usual self. I'm closer to TS though than someone who dresses to just enjoy the clothes. Unless I can spend an hour getting my makeup right and then go out 'en femme' I tend not to bother.
