"Sebastianne" by Derek Jarman...

Need I say more? An openly homo-erotic film with the most delicious sex scenes and ending in the martyrdom, naked, tied to a tree shot with arrows. If Mr Jarman wasn't trying to turn his gay audiences on (and hopefully corrupt a few homophobes) then what the fuck did he make it so sexy for? (No point in asking, he's brown bread.)

I should think it breaks all the rules in the CJB and yet it's a classic!

I'm all for things like http://freenetproject.org/ and I will not be giving up my copy (assuming it is likely we have a copy, since my GF has numerous such films - I haven't yet checked).

I've mentioned this before, but it bears repeating, the BBFC has just given an R18 Classification to a film called "Girls with Guns" which shows women "forcing" men to have sex whilst being threatened with firearms.

This, of course, *WILL NOT* be illegal, even though it's clearly "for sexual arousal" since it is an "excluded image" because it isn't "an extract from a classified work" it is the whole classified work!

I'm tempted to write to the MoJ and get them to confirm this, just to see if they realise how stupid the situation they've been put in is.

Just thought I'd add - we generally have the uncensored versions of all the controversial films... Not the BBF(***ing)C versions, Sod that!

(edited to correct the spelling of "fucking" - I originally miscounted the *s) :-D

Edited again, no I didn't!

Apparently it's got:

Hot Girls, no dialogue and a shitload of firepower!

Sounds interesting :-)

It's £15, might get it for *cough* research.

Cronenberg's 'Crash' would have to go, what with all its brutal sex and lingering shots of the bruises afterwards. That, and crashing cars for sexual pleasure.

So many reasons to love it...

Was about to bring up baise-moi, apparently French for 'fuck me'. A story of rape and then sexual revenge. Would certainly be interesting to rate according to the CIJD

Any film featuring John Holmes using his unfeasibly large penis? I cite the clause below:

b) an act which results, or is likely to result, in serious injury to a person's anus...or genitals,

You are as safe as you want to be...but no safer ;-)

Do you reckon all porn films will only have men with small dicks in "just in case"? :-D

Yes, I can see that. The law *may* make it an offence to extract and store an image or clip from a BBFC-classified film if you've snipped that bit for the purposes of getting your rocks off on it.

But they won't ban the film, will they? You won't get done for owning the DVD.

I suppose I'm just reacting (again - stupid, stupid girl) to sensationalist, speculatory posts. They aren't going to ban Saw 4, Thelma & Louise or Se7en. Or any other mainstream, BBFC classified films.

BBFC classified films are safe.

Extracts from BBFC classified films could be illegal if (a) they meet the "extreme" criteria and (b) the jury believe you extracted a section from the film for the purposes of sexual arousal.

You cannot be thrown into prison for owning "Casino Royal", but if you extract the clip of the torture scene where Bond is tied to a seat-less chair and is having his balls whipped with a knotted rope end, then potentially you could be - it just depends on whether the jury feel you did it for erotic reasons.

To point this out is not sensationalist, it's factual. It's reading the wording of the legislation and saying "Hang fire, what does this really MEAN?"

I understand that you feel a great deal of fuss is being made about nothing, but doesn't it concern you AT ALL that it could be illegal to own an extract from a movie that you can buy in any branch of W H Smiths? Doesn't it concern you AT ALL that the law is vaguely written and inconsistent? Doesn't it concern you AT ALL that people may well be turned into criminals for owning images of consensual, staged and completely legal acts?

I'm sorry littlenic - it sure as HELL concerns me.

FEMALE, BONDAGE-FRIENDLY MODEL SOUGHT. I am seeking to update my "How To" shibari bondage pictures (see my profile pics, the clothed blonde tied in red and black) with a model more "enthusiastic" about BDSM, and who is happy to be photographed nude. MEMO ME if this is you.
