Is the Journalist that wrote this very biased and in some places it appears libelous story.
Googling him, he wrote the last expose story as well.
Has this person nothing better to do with their time than ruin people's lives?

Oh, and this is a good article about Press come-uppance, and how apparently bent the PCC are:

I'm so angry! Let's hope the headmistress and school governors stand by her.
Another career potentially ruined for the sake of a few titillating paragraphs. This has to be stopped. I don't know how, but it must.
Let's hope there's some lies in the piece. If there is, she should take them to the cleaners for loss of her career. I'd donate to a legal fighting fund. Perhaps this community needs a central fund or some pro-bono lawyers to help in these types of cases.
To the lady in question: be strong - it will be tomorrow's chip paper. Obligatory wanky Latin tagline: Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet, consectetur, adipisci velit

Yes, it is the same name as the previous article.
I suggest action is needed that will hurt NOTW where it hurts - in the pocket!
If everyone here calls the advertisers on the NOTW website and explains VERY forcefully why you WON'T be using their services, then it might, just might, persuade them to reconsider where they spend their money.
Your starter for 10 is expedia.co.uk, whose advert appears on the page with this article.
Their contact details are:
EXPEDIA CORPORATE TRAVEL UK Ltd
110 Middlesex street
London E1 7HY
UNITED KINGDOM
Tel. : + 44 (0)871 330 7120
Their marketing director is Elyas Chowdhury and the managing director Caroline Cartellieri.
There is nothing that marketing people hate more than the idea that their advertising budget is being spent reaching people who aren't interested, let alone people who react negatively to seeing that advertising message.
And their is nothing that managing diectors hate more than being told why people WON'T be using their company, if that reason is because of exactly where their marketing director is placing advertisements.
If everyone here can make just one phone call on Monday morning then I suggest that it's to expedia. The worst that can happen is that they ignore us but the potential outcome is that they pull their advertising from NOTW
Please everyone, give it a go!

ETA: Calling their advertising agency wouldn't hurt either:

On the whole, i'm not the protesting sort, for various reasons. But this time........well, "Bastard" was the first word from my lips.
So yes, Monday, I'll be 'phoning Expedia. And the Grubbys too!!
Yours,

The journalist in question (the person behind the pseudonym) will be reading this thread tomorrow.
All of the advice we give on threads like this about avoidance will just be duly noted for the next expose.
The fact is that freelance journalists have a living to earn. What we see as moral boundaries won't pay their mortgages and newspaper editors don't pay for balanced truths, they want stories that sell.
This country needs privacy laws. Now there is something to campaign for... * * *

WTF! Do you support mercenary soldiers and professional hit men - just because their moral boundaries are different and they have mortgages too? Obligatory wanky Latin tagline: Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet, consectetur, adipisci velit

Perhaps it's time to start lobbying for an independant press complaints authority.Something with teeth as it's obvious they are incapable of doing it themselves.
Perhaps we could also publish all names and addresses from reporters up to the very top. Edited 4 May 08, 7:23 AM by stimyou

If there weren't moral outrage there would be no story so in a sense you need a change in public attitude that (a) it's fine to pay for sex and (b) there is nothing unusual about BDSM. That will be a long time coming. |

Great idea, but Tuesday: it's a public holiday in this neck of the woods. |
