I've been on the phone and she is getting clarification, but it does seem that the most serious images could find the viewer added to the sex offenders register. I've asked if she's prepared to post and I think once she has a clear or even somewhat clearer understanding of the gibberish as she calls it she will put happily post via my account a laymans version with references.

People will deffo be added to the Sex Offender's REgsiter. We have it from the MoJ.
But we need legal experts to help put together the new backlash website, the bust card and to help direct us to how to best raise awareness of the flaws in this law within the legal profession.
Suggestions on lawyers who might be willing to defend these cases and act as duty solicitors would also be fantastic.
All help greatfully received and anonymity is guaranteed.
please contact us on info@backlash-uk.org.uk if she can offer any assistance.

I'll talk to my learned barrister, she is already defending people charged under the SOA 2003 as it now seems that your guilty until proven innocent under any charges brought against you under that act, andf she is of the opinion that you will be in the same boat under the CIJA 2008! I've had it indicated to me that she'll be looking at putting herself forward as for defence work, and I suspect that she'll be prepared once i've worked on her a bit to help with a website. |

Thanks so much.
We already have two solicitors on side.
It would be great if anyone else who has contacts in the legal profession, especially solicitors outside of the London and Home Counties area, could find out whether they would be willing to help backlash -- or its next incarnation. |

The latest (presumably final) version of the act now seems to be at http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2008/ukpga_20080... .
The main bit of importance is http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2008/ukpga_20080... .
Also see Schedule 26 about the sex offender registration bit: http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2008/ukpga_20080... . http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/extreme-images/ - Petition against "extreme porn" law!
