Today sees one, kinda, and tomorrow sees another.
It's the last day of lectures today for my academic year, and shortly after posting this I'll be heading up the hill once more for my last hour of them. Admittedly there are still two essays (one on contemporary social theory, one on Pulp Fiction) to go, and three exams, but it feels like it's all over bar the shouting really. It'll be really odd to step away from this for a few months in all honesty; September, and the start of the first year where it all really starts to count, can't come soon enough!
Still unsure when I'll be heading back northwards for the summer too. I need to be here until at least June 13th, and have the room here for another month ontop of that. It wouldn't surprise me if there were soon posters asking if people wanted to pay and stay over the summer; from their point of view it's money lost by rooms standing empty, but time will tell. Typically, the deciding factor will most likely be finance, especially since there's a chance I'll have my old job to walk back into for my time in Newcastle if I head that way, rather than needing to find something down here.
But if all of that is about one side of life, tomorrow is most definitely about another...
A certain someone is coming to visit, and for the first time we're going to get to spend a fair chunk of time together. In the general theme of things, it's another step forward together, coming at what feels like the right time, with little at all in the way of apprehension or nervousness. It just feels like it'll be time spent with someone I get on with better and better still as time passes, and it's another progression onwards together.
There have been a few such happenings, but it feels like tomorrow will push things on further still, and as great as things are now, it seems they'll just get better still.
Here's hoping we're right
Phoenix
