Ever had one of those days ?
Woke up this morning with a tender face down one side and feeling a bit like i was getting a cold...looked in the mirror and saw that under my right eye is was swollen and my eye was watering. Took a couple of tablets cos i do tend to get sinus pain when ive got a cold....its either that or the dog smacked me in the eye last night and i dont remember!!!
Then son asked me to take him to a garden centre to choose a goldfish for his girlfriends birthday(which is today!) so i ignored sore face, jumped in the car and drove him to a local garden centre but he didnt like any of the hundreds of fish there so then we drove all the way over to another place where after much deliberation on his part he bought a little fish.
Back home i decided to stay in my jogging pants and sweatshirt as i wasnt expecting visitors...then my parents decided to drop in with a pressie for sons girlfriend, minutes later the girlfriend turned up with her sister, her nephew and her dad...good grief. I didnt have time to get changed...bet they thought i was a real scruffy bugger, especially her dad whom id never met before.
Made brews and eventually everyone went and left me in peace...i put some rubbish in my pedal bin which is attached to the cupboard door(one of these that opens the lid as you open the door)...ad the bin fell off the door hinge spilling rubbish all over the floor...aaaggghhhh.
I swept the floor and spent ages trying to attach the bin back onto the door and then decided that i should pop to Tesco as son had asked that i make vegetable and chicken soup.
It gets worse at this point...
I bought some groceries including a ready cooked chicken, boiling hot and in its own juices in a sealed bag. No problems...got to the checkout and i was packing my stuff in bags, picked the chicken up and i dont quite know how it happened but as i went to put it into the carrier bag it slipped out of my hand...im bloody sure it was still alive, the bag wasnt sealed properly and the chicken flew out of the bag and into my hands, it was so hot that i dropped it onto the foor and the juices in the bag spilled out all over the rest of my shopping. It must have looked so funny...the checkout girl couldnt stop laughing, i was full of juice and the queue of folk behind me looked really pissed off as we both attempted to wipe everything down and i had to run and get another chicken...whoops.
At last i arrived home and had a coffee to recover, i then decided to make the soup, i emptied two packs of ready cut vegetables into a pan(ok i know im lazy) and then thought that something didnt smell right. One of the packets had tomorrows sell by date on and it stunk like mad...obviously the vegetables had gone off although the other packet was alright. Of course cos id emptied both packets into the pan i couldnt pick out all the bad veg so i just gave up at that point...threw all the veg away and jumped in the car back to the supermarket for two more packets and eventually made the soup...phew.
Well, thats been most of my day...last night son gave me a new dvd, Hairspray, that he had bought me for a treat(awwww bless) and id wanted to watch it but its just not been possible with one disaster after another. In the middle of it all i got a text to say id had a missed call half an hour earlier from Master, no idea why it took so long for the text to come through but i did ring him back and get to speak to him which was nice.
So, my swelling has almost gone and my face feels fine now although im a bit snuffly, Masters on antibiotics for a virus...knowing my luck today im gonna be coming down with it as well! But, talking about my Master...we are hopefully going out this evening for something to eat, maybe to Blackpool and then a drive on towards Lytham to see if we can find a Restaurant. Son is staying out overnight so we may just get time for a play as well if Master feels well enough.
On that note im gonna go and have a nice warm bubbly bath, shave my hairy bits and then relax until Master comes over to see me.
Surely nothing else can go wrong today...can it ?

After a day like that, you're gonna let a razor near you?? Wow, you are such a masochist. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Aww poor you... Hope you feel better soon! I am just getting over a nasty cold, the details of which I won't gross you out with. Went back to work today to a ton of shit from colleagues so bad I had a meeting with my line manager who agreed with me, they are seriously out of order. Yep, just had a bath and managed to nick the back of my ankle with the razor...one of those silly little cuts that bleed all over the place...was just gonna happen wasnt it.
Will keep my eyes open for the place in Lytham...a choccy eclair would go down just nicely now.
Im feeling a lot better...obviously Masters virus is worse than mine
Where my Master goes, i will follow, tho we will do so hand in hand.

Best thing for those is what my dad used to call 'tramps' sticking-plaster' - in other words, a clean, dry bit of newspaper. Mind you, if you are REALLY accident-prone, keeping a styptic pencil (try your chemist) in the bathroom cabinet may be a good idea. ef |
