Never liked the Ann Rice stuff either. Last original find was the series that start with 'Kushiel's Dart' by Jacqueline Carey. On Amazon. Author's Site If you don't like Fantasy writing, don't bother, (though I rarely do, and still liked it). I know two people who write erotic fiction, they both say the rule with Nexus and Black Lace books is that 'if it's on the cover, it's probably inside too' Mike ('The Prof')

Ditto. Although, books seem redundant these days. Stories such as DNA and Nano on fictionmania.com are just as good.

Stop Press! Story of Emma's being relaunched by Silver Moon with extra pages by Emma! And Sean O'Kane's recently released another one called 'Slavemaker' which is an alternative reality yarn! Good stuff. Always found the Nexus and Chimera and BL stuff very watery, but Silver Moon....well the initials aren't by accident I feel!

Definately worth getting into! Funnily, there are already sites of people who are using the 'Kushiel' novels as a source of fantasy play in their BDSM.

Easy. 'Justine' by De Sade. It's the combination of moral philosophy and unsurpassable kinkiness which makes it practically the most subversive thing ever written. OK, well '120 Days of Sodom' does surpass it for kinkiness but just isn't as good - or subversive.

I like the Beauty Books and Exit to Eden and the Kushiel series, but my favourite has to be the Nexus one 'Pet Training in the Private House' by Esme Ombreux.

I was reading a book on the bus on the way home this evening, and the 'hero' has gone to the Burning Man Festival, where he has avoided the 'Nipple Clamp Camp' believing that such activity is only 'semijustifiable in the company of a topless girlfriend'. It's such a disappointing reference to kink, but it got me to thinking about my fave BDSM book, or BDSM scene in a book, and I was going to ask the very same question on here tonight. So, I think one of my favourites is Nothing Natural by Jenny Diski. Jenny Diski is a great writer and she writes here about a love affair between a dominant and a woman who is first discovering her desire to submit. I read it in my old vanilla days, and loved it, knowing I'd be living out some of those fantasies one day. I also love Melting Point, a book of short stories by Pat Califia. Even if I didn't love this book for the stories, I'd love it because it was given to me by the first person I ever submitted to. Skelpie |
