Its da pix's birthday next month. She wants a music thingy that she can download music to and I dont have a clue.
Thats where the font of all human knowlege comes in....namely you lot.
She doesnt know what she wants either, but she wants to be able to put her CDs on it, to download music to it but without using up loads of memory on her PC (cos it doesnt have a great deal left). It also has to be very simple to use.
I want to spend £80 - £100.
Help!

I am not technically minded at all but I find the I-Pod really easy to use and add songs to.

She will use up some memory on her PC loading her CDs. If you choose an ipod (and I have an ipod nano which I love) then choose MP3 format for the downloads etc as it will mean she can switch to MP3 should she choose to later.

It seems to me that you pay for the name with Ipod and you have to download another media player. Have a look at the link below for something cheaper and which will work with windows media player. In fact I'm tempted to get one for myself.

If you love da pix give her something that can reproduce. i.e not an ipod. Try a creative zen 4Gb about £80 8gb about £100 it doesn't lose 35% of the sound.
