The News (I use that term loosely) of the World exposed Formula One supremo Max Mosely after a film of him cavorting with 5 "hookers" in a five hour orgy involving Nazi uniforms. This happened at the weekend.

Today four of the leading formula one teams came out and as good as demanded his resignation. It looks like the likes of Renault and Mercedes don't want their brands being associated with this kind of behaviour.
This just goes to show how BDSM is still perceived (Granted it was a 5 hour session with 5 "hookers" and not something he was doing with his wife) I just watched Tim Woodward on channel 4 news and he was right when he said that the tasteless part of the whole thing was the way he was set up and filmed by a newspaper. It was private and should have remained so.
I don't really want to drag this up again but it is yet another example of how us "perverts" are seen out in the wider world and why I did not wear purple.
Sad but true.

Don't think it was so much to do with the BDSM as the fact that he roleplayed a nazi. And even that wouldn't have been quite so bad were it not for the fact that he was a fascist, and supported his father, who was a nazi sympathiser and was good mates with Hitler.

I just think that its outrageous that anyone can be secretly fimed doing something that isnt illegal and then have that film used to discredit him. What people do in private (as long as it isnt illegal) is their own business. Sweetiejar | |

Yep, aware of the history and unfortunately we can't separate the two (The BDSM element from the fascist leanings) Still think that the fact that he was roleplaying anything with five hookers would still have landed him in hot water, the facist bit I think added the icing to the cake.

If his 'thing' involves a nazi uniform then that's his bad taste,but carried out in private, not for public consumption. Didn't see Prince Harry having to resign after his bad taste fancy dress the other year. | |

God point, well made. It was in bad taste and, as Tim pointed out in his news interview, it was in private. That actually makes it less offensive than Prince Harry. SO we are left with the BDSM and the 5 "hookers" Which is it that will have him removed I wonder.

It will be the Nazi thing that gets him removed. Cant say that I 'see' the appeal myself but its a very sensitive area. However, as you and I and others have said, this was done in private and filmed without his consent (isnt that illegal?) and then used to sell a few newspapers. Sweetiejar |
