my oldest schoolfriend Davey called me today.I have kept in touch with him all these years and he called me to tell me about his brother neils wedding.
when we were teenagers up in the back of beyond, during the sixties and just neanderthalls trying to be cool, we wandered the streets waiting for something to happen.
there was always a group of us and the odd girl always hanging on . Marian was always there, hovering on the edge as she had this crush on Davey and would have walked on coals for him. we could never understand why but Davey was always uncomfortable with her devotion and would use her and get that distance in place right away.Marian was as quiet as a mouse and rarely spoke.Davey was podgy and going bald even as a 16 year old.
if one of the boys fancied a shag they would ask Davey if he could walk her home. he always put on this offhanded attitude and shout over to her (never approached close or anything, that would have meant a bond), to let so and so walk her home and be sure to make him happy. it was control in a way that none of us had the understanding off at that age.
one time neil, Davey's brother was home on leave from the Marines. he was 21, and the next generation up. he was all muscle and front, ready to take on the world with his new training.
anyway , he took Marian home in the same manner one night and when he got back , he relayed this story to us.
he had shagged Marian for almost 5 hrs solid, in every position known to man and only stopped when he was exhausted. he had turned to Marian and asked her how that was. "all right" she said. "ALL RIGHT" said neil. he asked her how many marks out of 10 would she give his performance.
she thougth about it and said "9". "9" said neil sitting up on the bed, finding the news hard to take "has anyone ever got a 10 marian ? "
"no " said marian after a moments thought, "but your brother Davey got 11"

I'm curious too, although I'm sure she's probably on crutches, well if she's been constantly on her back for that number of hours she's probably lost the use of her legs by now

well after extensive research (a couple of phone calls ) it turns out that our Marian married a guy just as quiet as herself and (am i allowed to say this) he was killed in the seventies when his moped ran into the back of a stationary artic lorry and he was decapitated ...no shit.
she now lives abroad my mum says and saw her last year when she came home on her hols. she never married untill years later and she is with a nice man (mum whispered on the phone to me that he is black or at least very tanned)
Davey is like a baby elephant and has a chrome dome, still vanilla and yes still wearing track suit bottoms with the stripe on the sides
as for me, well ladies, needless to say i never got an 11 when i'm in the mood, the faint hearted amongst you better wear a nappy
