A few days back I was pottering about at work, minding my business and got talking to a few city wardens about my job, and how long I had done it. It's going to be 2 years in August, after which I hopefully get to finish my probationary period (yes, it's a long one where I work).
As the old saying goes, 'time really does fly when you don't know what the hell you're doing', lol :D. 3 years in this city in October. 5 years since I graduated University. 8 years since I left the army. It is odd that as a child the blissful summer days seemed to last an eternity, and weeks to the summer holidays seemed to drag along.
But as you become an adult, time really does fly by. And the past month certainly has, for various reasons. It has on certain aspects felt like one of those summer days that seemed never-ending, and at the same time I cannot believe how I have managed to lose all these days. I have to say that the term 'lose all these days' is purely metaphorical.
I have no doubt in my mind that I will remember these days - not necessarily in great details, but as clear memories of feelings and grand thoughts. It has been a time of great reflection on things, revelations to both self and other people, taking chances and seeing them pay off, and knowing that whatever life will throw at me, there will always be options, things to discover, jobs to do, people to speak to. Here's to living life as an adult, with days speeding past. As long as they will always be like this - it's not a bad life, really . Edited Mon 24 Mar 08, 10:52 PM by Cortina

Unsurprisingly, that same sense of time isn't an unfamiliar feeling here. The pace of days flying past, but at the same time things going on that will both shape the future in one way or another, and will stick in the mind no matter what that future brings.
The days themselves might be metaphorically lost, but there's a good trade off being gained in their passing

Absolutely - don't think there will be any chance of forgetting things.
And let's face it, there isn't much of a desire to do that, either ."Give up your body to such sweet uncleanness"

With a good memory each, and a shared penchant for reflection, it's safe to say you aren't wrong

Good to know, in case I have a spontaneous brain melt . Seems to make me lost for words at times - weird that.."Give up your body to such sweet uncleanness"
(William Shakespeare, Measure for Measure 2.4.54)
"A woman went into a bar and asked for a double entendre, so the barman gave her one."
