Whether it's a munch for people under 35 or for 35s and under makes very little difference in the real world, it's just an arbitrary cut off point. The U35 munch that I go to seems to be working well, as far as I know everyone's happy with how it's run.
You could split hairs about it, but only if you really wanted to

If its the 'under 35's munch' then technically (and pedantically at which I am a self-confessed expert) you should retire on your 35th birthday - not that I give a flying f**k eicyjer way actually

Like I (almost) said - I don't give a flying f**k either way - but always happy to split a hair

Well, I guess there's something to be said for splitting hairs, the devil being in the details as he is.
Stan We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not only because they are easy, but because they are hard.

What happens when the organiser of a U35 munch turns 36?
He or she gets flogged for staying on a year too long. I assume "U35" means UNDER 35?

No it means, up to and including; like an under 15 football team which allows you to play up until your 16th birthday.

Ahhh so its really the 'not yet 37's munch'?

No, pedantically, one should do what I'll be doing and retire on or before ones thirty sixth birthday.
She asked for a Gestapo Interrogation scene, so I put needles under her nails, broke her legs and had her shot at dawn.

I guess it could be that the scene has got a litle bit weighted to those people who have been around for longer than some. |

The 'scene' isn't something abstract or created for us, its us, we make and shape it! So those of us who have been around a while have had the time to influence it.

That really is breath-takingly arrogant.
What evidence do you have for that assertion?
Go tell that to all the other munch and event organisers out there. Who invest time and effort and energy as well. You're not trying to suggest that your event is better than there's? Are you?
It's not about age. It's about attitude.
Hey folks. Come to my event Because it's "slightly more" superior.
That's a good approach. Not.

Perhaps, nevertheless it's completely correct. U35's lack so much of the undercurrent of bigger munches. For the newbie, they are far and away superior. The main munch in Manchester is ace. In LJ it's got one of the finest, most dedicated organisers in the country. My munch running skills pale by comparison but still, I maintain, that the u35 is a far less intimidating environment from the perspective of a newbie. It's no reflection on the organisers. It's all about the demographic. She asked for a Gestapo Interrogation scene, so I put needles under her nails, broke her legs and had her shot at dawn.
