Quite a few of us go to our own local Munch and have a great time meeting with people we know and feel comfortable being in their company. Whilst some people have the luxury of many within quite close travelling distance for me in Portsmouth my regular munch is Southampton .

Now it just so happened I knew being in south London yesterday when the Croydon munch was meeting that evening I could go along.

I know a few people there from LAM and Hades but going to a new munch offers so much more. The opportunity to talk with people who are just profile names and have a laugh and a joke with them whilst getting to know more about them socially is far more intriguing. You get a sense that there is a wider community out there and meeting new people stirs the brain and starts it thinking. Which some will say for me is a novelty! The diversity of ideas is so wide that even when you think you know all there is someone will say something and, 'bing' new ideas come in mind.

For those that write and wonder why they don't find people all I will say is, you have to find them. The Munches are well publicised on IC. Events happen all over the country. So just go out and say hello. Nothing in life will come to you, as they don't know whom you are. So with a little bit of effort gird your loins, if they haven't been girded already and sally forth.

Was very nice to meet you last night and blimey had no idea you had so far to travel home, hats off to you for making the effort and glad you made it back safely.

It was great to see you there, and I would say to encourage others that I first met you via a contact made at another munch, and so the circles of friendship grow. I risk of causing people to need the vomitarium, I have said it before and I'll say it again. People who were strangers at my first munch ( and who scared me rather) are now good friends who have stuck with me and supported me through the bad times, and rejoice with me now that times are good.

I agree, stop shilly shallying ( now there's a phrase you don't often hear these days) and just do it.

Trouble is, I girdled my loins while I was sallying forth and coupled with the shilly shallying I did at Hades it has caused friction burns! Still excellent advice though and will be doing it all again very soon
