I recently saw Mr Bone's post here:
http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/weblogs/Mr_Bone...
It is unusual to find someone who has the clarity of mind to see their own problems and the balls to honestly state them, and so to see the planned exit of Mr Bone from IC and the club scene on the basis of such a "fuck this" conclusion at a personal low point rather saddened me.
Is he right to do so? Probably not, but in his own mind I am sure he sees this as the best move.
I can understand his feelings, though my own approach and conclusions are rather different.
But this got me thinking rather more about some of the details of what he has decided. One of those moves that I pondered upon was the decision to erase his profile and postings step by step.
This is rather like the Cheshire Cat as engineered by Joe Stalin, and it contrasts with those who simply don't come back one day by choice, or due to death. This I have seen on "friends reunited", where there is a profile of a class mate's sister who died but it remains, like the internet equivalent of their persona trapped in amber for the coming aeons.
I personally hope that Mr Bone reconsidered his exit, as IC will loose one of its more colourful characters.
