The bursting-full discussion threads that have sprung up since the event are testament in themselves to what a great time was had by all at this wonderful munch. Thank you so much to all those who attended, helped to organise, donated prizes and generally make it such a great day. A number of people with busy schedules came from far afield to make it, including Master Cosmic (ta v much for the port)which is really very touching. Meeter and greeter thankyou e-cuddles being sent out to you all. I'm quite sure I could continue Gwyneth Paltrow style all day long, (well it is Oscar season after all) but I fear I must get down to the serious business of detailing the fun that we all had.

The day began with scene stalwarts struggling from their post-Lash beds to dutifully set up the party. Cheeks were nearly ruptured blowing up those black and red balloons, our little leaflet-paper cut fingers tied up in knots hanging them up...oh the depraved masochistic things we do for our munch! Once again the Via dungeon was full to bursting, this month 145 people attended. While the munch is always blessed by diversity, there was a particularly pleasant mixture of seasoned players, familiar faces, newbies to the Manchester scene (I noticed a number of scousers defecting that weekend) and absolute beginners to the BDSM scene. They can't have all been there for the cake, although they'd be forgiven if they were. The big slabs of chocolaty deliciousness seemed to go down a treat, as did Ic's kindly donated happy-face sponge -thank you to Admin AKA Tanos for that.

At no other point was this more evident than looking out at a crowded via basement of munchees during the pinnacle of the afternoon-the speeches. As a relative newbie to the scene myself Tanos' speech was a potent reminder of how far we as a munch community have come in the last decade. How sporadic meetings between a small loyal perv-base has grown into an established munch at the core of many people's BDSM lives is testament to the wonderful people who have helped to run it over the years. Lord James (the Munch guvna) was presented with a plaque thanking him for his dutiful hard work running the munch since 1999 (when some of us were little more than schoolgirls). Thankyou, Duncan for organising and looking after the Munch all of this time, and giving a space for people of all genders and sexualities to meet fellow deviants, sharing ideas, stories, advice and having a great deal of fun.

Speaking of fun-edited highlights of the afternoon's silliness includes single snowdrop's new flirting technique of padding her bra with flying saucers, Shell's inability to keep her teeth to herself when my bum's around and Magenta's quote, which I would repeat but it is best not being put down in print.
