New York Fetish scene crisis (4)

Having from New York on Wednesday morning I promised my perverted cousins from the other side of the pond I would post this, active club scene there appears to be in almost terminal decline, even people playing in the club I visited (paddles) were dressed in a vanilla manner and those that did wear basques etc got changed inside, lots of fetish wear available to wear but frowned upon in public! When I went to watch the mighty smogmonsters play liverpool in an average new york bar I found almost open hostility to people who are into the scene after asking a couple of gaurded questions, even in this most liberal of american states things seem to be regressing for us perverts. must say hello to a fantasic man I met from the bronx (he also asked me to post this but remain anon!)

If any of us are going out there please support these people if you are not going as your vanilla persona.

Having spent a fair amount of time living in American culture - they are quite reserved. Even the perverts. It's the one major thing I noticed when I was over there.

It is very true that americans are reserved but the point I am making is that the scene over there cannot obtain licenses for clubs and the christian right are looking to legislate against and persicute these people, with more sucess than here!
On the other hand I visit the USA at least once a year a love the place!

Totally. Especially in NY, and on the East Coast.
Try San Francisco- things are a bit more lively. ::grin:: Californians, particularly bay area ones, are NOT very reserved. And hurray for that!
