or actually a real woman who wants more than a fantasy.

That's disgusting.

Your problem, if you're a male sub, is spotting them; they are, after all, all normal ordinary people.

Perhaps we need some kind of Domme Awareness Day (although the acronym is not exactly ideal), promoting awareness of and pride in domme tendencies in the general vanilla population.

It could be like a recruitment drive. Your country's subs need you!

In my domme days I found that to say no often resulted in a financial offer which was flattering in some ways but really not my scene. I can confirm that had I wanted to I could have been a very rich woman very fast. A lot of sub men also bring their baggage with them including irate wives and girlfriends, any way that is all gone. I married my sub and I enjoy playing with him and serving Masters which is far more fun. Sometimes I will dominate for His pleasure. Please do not tell me I am unusual. I am me and I like being me and I do not want to dominate anyone except as above.

Ok time for some realism. Being a real "domme" is hard work. If they take it seriously and don't want just sexual games.

They actually have to look after another human being and many women don't have time for it. Work, family, kids etc...

So does this mean men are more likely to do "hard work" than women? Or do you mean that women are more likely to have less time for this?

I love it when we go back to the convert the vanillas. That is what makes sub men think that their girlfriends will suddenly change overnight.

The reason it's such a popular myth is that many people do end up in happy, kinky relationships with people they've met in vanilla contexts. The thing is, most of those people weren't vanilla to start with. A lot will have had kinky fantasies but never tried to act them out; and nearly all the rest will at least have experimented with fetish or kink at some point, even if they've never heard the term "BDSM" or thought of going to a fetish or BDSM club. If you go out looking for kinky people on "the scene" or on sites like IC, you are only going to be looking through a tiny fraction of the kinky people in the country.

I agree. Indeed, offline, I'm not sure I'm part of the scene - I rarely go to fetish clubs (and if I do, I'm with someone), and I don't go to anything like munches. It's inaccurate to categorise everyone into "part of the BDSM scene" and "vanillas who would have to be converted".

Does anyone else hear Joan Rivers' voice when they read Bitchy Jones's posts?

I'll fiddle for the punters if you clean my cage.

They were relatively rare, a lot were ... highly guarded and cynical.

Dommes get lots of one-line cut n paste memos from complete strangers making advances so it's perfectly natural for them to seem highly guarded and cynical.

Also, I don't believe a domme who doesn't wanna have sex with her subs is not a good domme.

And - and this is not for the OP -I don't believe dommes who get off on the femdom thing - dressing up in outlandish gear and calling blokes "worms" or whatever - should be led to believe their fun is bogus cos they've let themselves act out a misogynist stereotype about dominant women.

Too much "That's not right for me, so it can't be right for everyone."

And not enough, "Do what you want, why should I care?"

I'll fiddle for the punters if you clean my cage.

OK, I'll come clean.

Whenever a woman decides to be a domme, a big secret detector device here in The Firm HQ registers her and she is picked up by limosine, brought to our secret dungeons, kitted out with big boots and a whip, and given the choice of all kinds of training courses from penis torture to depilation, and fed on quails and champagne.

There you go, the whole shortage thing is down to us; we planned it, all those dominant women nobody has met yet are all down here at Firm HQ, beating men, doing nipple torture, and watching Celebrity Come Dancing. The gates are barred, we got guys with UZIs on the gates, so even if you come down mob handed you're gonna get wasted.

On the other hand, if you buy tickets to our next gig (that's Detention, April 19), you might meet some.

I'm off to bed with one now. Sorry.
