Apologies for the well worn title, but it was just a poignant example, and some of you might enjoy..
On Radio 1 this afternoon, they were having a post-"Brits" themed celebration. Amongst lots of winners tunes etc, Georgina Bowman was asking attendees questions texted in by listeners.
I was driving, so missed the interviewee's name, but it was probably somebody from Atomic Girls Aloud Spice Kittens or something..
But amongst other random questions was "Daddy or chips?" Now for all I know it might be "code" for something else, but it was her reply, and the alacrity of it which "worked". Without any hesitation at all, she replied "Daddy".
But not just the word... the whole TONE, the FEELING for it, I'd SWEAR she understands. She said it and it reminded me what I am, what I want. I've probably only ever had it said to me like that twice in my life, and one is my daughter...
So whomever the lass is, thanks for reminding me. and thanks for saying it like "that"....
