After spending a lovely day on Sunday at 'Chartwell' (home of Sir Winston Churchill) I had a fabulous idea. Us being members of the National Trust, we like to get our monies worth so how about having our very own National Dungeon Trust?
I could open the house at the first one on the books, and you can inspect the dungeon at leisure.
“You will fine a delightful collection of ivory handled canes especially shipped over from America (under the guise of 'massage sticks'). We have a lovely leather saddle for your amusement, along with leather straps attached to the bed, mainly used by the Master of the house in restraining his woman. We have a collection of whips and floggers along with a very interesting wooden pony. If you inspect the bed closely you will fine a number of hooks to which various implements of restraint may be attached. We also have a very fine antique wooden cage which can be placed in the garden for subs to be left in – will even provide a bowl of water.
Afternoon tea may be taken on the lawn whilst enjoying the fine views of the countryside (providing you can fine a mole hill free area to place your deckchair and you give me enough time to run down to the supermarket to buy some 'home-made' scones). The Master of the house will provide interactive demonstrations for a very small fee, so you too can feel the delights firsthand of living in such an establishment.”
I think we'll only be opening the summer months, if not I'll have to keep the place clean and tidy all year round. Also Pimms on the lawn won't be the same in the November drizzle. I'll have a small souvenir shop selling snow-storms and tacky plastic models of the house.
Oh my imagination is running overtime.
