i don't believe that there are many things i fetishise, however one of my obsessions (which, if i'm perfectly honest, is actually a fetish) is knives.

..And by knives i don't mean sharps (generally), or scalpels (in a medical fetishist regard) i mean knives as weapons.

Digging back into memory, i think that my love of knives has always been with me to some degree - well at least as far back as puberty - many of my darkest fantasies involved fear, threats and knife points (and i am talking fantasies here!)

i've always loved the idea of stealthy assassins - up close and personal - ninjas, special forces, dawn raids, secret agents... If i think hard enough about it i can remember feeling terribly disappointed that the "milk tray" advertising campaign of the 1980s ("all because the lady loves...." for those of you old enough to remember it) involved the milk tray man (dressed all in black) doing all kinds of daring things to get into the lady in question's bedroom to leave her (you guessed it) a box of chocolates!! (i mean - what??!!!)

Don't get me wrong, i love chocolates as much as the next girl, but please - why the hell didn't he hang around for her with a sharp, pointy knife (he even had one with him on some occasions!?) Still i guess that wouldn't have sold many chocolates!

No such picture! The point of this weblog (i'm getting there, i promise) is that as of Friday i am now the very proud owner of a Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife - courtesy of Tanos for buying it and The Prof for acquiring it for me (many, many thanks and much gratitude to the both of them :-D)

This knife is beauty personified yep - i think i'm in love! (and i hear that The Prof has one or two left to sell.)

If you love knives i'd recommend this one without hesitation - just don't ask to look at mine (it's mine, mine, mine...sharp, shiny pointy thing......*swoons*)
