Happy 10th Birthday Manchester Munch! (12)

I thought it was appropriate for my first web blog to be about something suitably grand.
Today, the Manchester Munch celebrated it's 10th birthday with a big bash. 140 people who had all chosen an alternative lifestyle were in attendance to celebrate the occassion.
Being a MM virgin, I arrived late (of course) a little after noon to find quite a few organisers tucking into a well deserved breakfast and immediately making myself and my friend feel welcome. Despite this being the largest munch I've attended, it also turned out to be one of the friendliest.
Arriving before the "regulars" is definitely a must for newbies as once the crowd began to pour in, it quickly went from chilled to manic but still with a friendly and inclusive vibe.
So what was the highlight of the day? Definitely the people, so a big thank-you to everyone who made us feel welcome, especially those who took their time to explain all about the various events and encourage us to attend.
Meeting Tanos and being able to thank him personally for the hard work he has put into this site was also memorable. As was the presentation for Duncan who, despite his modesty is the heart of the Manchester Munch.
It wasn't just a few hours of frivolous fun, Tanos reminded us in his speech just how much of this freedom we take for granted and how important it was for us to support the organisations working against laws that would limit our right to enjoy an alternative lifestyle.
The cherry on the cake (which btw was delish I hear!), was sitting on the train back to Bolton, to be asked by a fellow traveller if I'd attended the munch. Seems the purple handband caught her eye
A poignant, happy, hot, fun, loud, enlightening afternoon for me, the start of many more.

Funny you should say that With the swish of a knife, thrash of the flogger, scratching nails, and the yank of my hair, I am one happy girl

No Coconut Mushrooms - gutted The Brits conquered the world in boats made of wood, powered by wind &
navigated by the stars. For the yanks to be in the same league they'll
need to have sent Neill Armstrong to the Moon.........on a Hang-glider!!

Just cant make up my mind about those brownies... I need to eat more of them, purely for scientific research purposes you understand.... The Brits conquered the world in boats made of wood, powered by wind &
