Did you ever just 'Get it'?
No, I'm not on about that pay rise, or that flogger you've been hankering after for ages. What I mean is, IT!
It could be many things. It could have been algebra when you were at school. It could have been riding a bike, or learning to swim. But it's more than those alone.
I think it's a confidence in your ability to take on greater unexplored areas. Such as, 'Well i know I can swim 500m, so there is no reason that I can't swim 1500m. You just know you can. You've wobbled around on a bike for a few weeks or months, but without explanation, you take your hands off of the handle bars, and peddle without concern, because, you just know. You just get it.
Well today, I got it. Nothing spectacular. But I got MS Access. No one please tell my work, as I'm supposed to have got it before I started there..lol..
I don't know why it's taken me 3 years, but I'VE BLOODY GOT IT ![]()
<Having an 'I've got it' dinner, to celebrate> oX.

I remember me dad teaching me to ride a bike after the stabilisers were removed. However I just couldn't do it. Then one day I just went out on my own got on the bike and started to ride. I was either so fed up/annoyed that I just got on and did it or I just couldn't do it with someone watching me. However, I've never really tried to get M$ Access as I've never needed it. But I'm sure if I ever really need it then I'll get it. The Babylon project was our last best hope for peace. It failed.

Whilst I'm not short of getting IT I wouldn't mind getting some quality IT now and again

Yeah I remember when I was learning to ride a motor bike and the turn in the road bit evaded me. I kept putting my foot down time and time again. The one day....BOOSH....I did it. The instructor laughed his head off as I went round and round and round for 10 minutes, then flicked the stand down, jumped off and did a sort of victory bum wiggle at him. D xx

Yay! I took an ECDL course a while back and it included Access, found it funny that I got it and our IT guy didn't, so used Excel for everything. You should have a T-shirt made up, "I comprehend MS Access" But then of course people would say "Geek!" It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.

So now I see this message, why couldn't I have seen it sooner? Just done a coursework using MS access, its a pain in the proverbial behind. So many things about it annoy me. I got it fairly quickly, but it makes me scream!

I had a logic course like that in college. 48 people dropped to 9 in a short time in one section. The 9 of us 'got it'. It was a matter of changing common language to calculus equations. Access is a piece of cake by comparison. It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything. |
