I have just got home from the cinema, after watching Sweeney Todd. I absolutely loved it!

What with Johnny Depp as the leading man, Helena Bonham Carter's wardrobe to die for and Tim Burton's stunning gothic visuals it really was a treat.

For anyone who may be put off by the "musical issue" i can reassure you that this film is not just a visual thrill but also brilliantly directed, and perfectly acted. With some surprisingly well cast appearances from Alan Rickman and Sacha Baron Cohan.

I can not image a more convincing Sweeney Todd, a must see film. Especially for those who are partial to a little bit of blood spill ;-), meat clevers and Johnny Depp wielding a scalpel/cut throat razor (for lili's benefit :-)).

The only thing that made me chuckle was Mrs Lovetts varying corset size, the actresses pregnancy during filming made her look even more amazing in her costumes :-D.

I am DESPERATE to see it!

I did see it mentioned somewhere as the 'Demon Berber of Fleet Street' which brought up a whole new set of images. :-)

I'm about as submissive as dracula on speed....

I've been looking forward to the release of this film for about six months! The musical factor doesn't put me off at all -- Sondheim is not your average musical theatre. The only thing I am displeased about from what I've heard from reviews is that they've cut my favourite chorus piece from the film:

But I still can't wait to see it!
