OK working in the retail trade as i do i should be very tolerant with the general public .But as the years go by i find myself growing less so with people whom come in .Here is an example of what i have to deal with.

A couple came to me with a pair of pyjama's ,usual story the husband ha brought them but got the wrong size(too big NEVER get too big guys always go too small you know you will suffer otherwise)they couldn't find the same style so they picked up another set .Unfortunately they didn't have the receipt for the set he had brought originally ,so i explained in plain English that without the receipt i could only offer the refund price if the item had gone down in the sale as there was no proof of time of purchase, point of fact the set had gone down to a fiver from twenty quid. Now this is where i seemed to lose them i understand them not being happy about the fact that the items had gone down and without the receipt they couldn't get the original price. But the lady pointed out to myself that surely when you mark down the items you put a sticker on them,to which i agreed but they had been purchased before the sale so they wouldn't be marked....blank... so she repeated exactly the same thing to me so in an effort to make things clearly i spoke slowly and clearly ....blank she still stuck to this idea about the sales sticker's, i swear she must have thought that the sales sticker magically appears in the label when we put it down in the sale or which is more sinister and i like this idea .....when the items go down in the sale we as a company send out the staff to sneak into peoples houses while they are asleep or not looking and place stickers on the sales items..............

Any way they got there arse's in there hands called over a manager and she did the same as me and they weren't having it.It ended up they turned around and said fine we will buy these pyjama's we don't want anything to do with them you can have them back,we did try to say we will take off the five pound from the new set but being pigheaded(stupid) they said no and we will buy the new set of pyjama's??????? I KNOW go figure so these half wits have paid about forty quid for a set of pyjama's.And people wonder why i think the general public are getting thicker.

Ah Yes the simple joys of working with Jo Public...

When I was 16 studying at College I worked at Meadowhall, a gentleman came up to me and asked 'what time do you close?' So I patiently explained that the whole shopping centre closed at 10 o' clock just to be confronted with this question,

Yeah ok so what time do YOU close?

Shame murder is illegal really

It's the customers that, 'Know the Law' that spout rubbish when they are angling for something they are not entitled too. I usually tell them to contact Trading Standards so I can put someone between me and them. At least that way I get someone sensible, mostly, to speak with to get the point across to a customer who isn't listening and has their own agenda.

These people or sub humans think that retailers are making a fortune when it's not the case. Overheads rise faster than the ability to get the prices for goods being sold.

One belligerent customer whose had exceptional service can wipe out a days worth of really nice people whom have got really good service from me.

Today's the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.
