Strange day!
I'd intended it as being one to just relax with. Maybe meet a friend for coffee, maybe do a little light reading, but mostly just to kick back and listen to music, and arse about really.
Oh, there's been a large chunk of music listening and I've certainly met some kind of 'arse about' quota. But I've actually combined that with a burst of productivity too... Nothing vastly exciting, just library time, which involved getting the equivalent of a small forest's worth of photocopies.
But that small forest, which equals everything I need for the semesters for the term ahead from the library, has left me feeling rather pleased, and incredibly spurred on to dive into things, although priority has to go to the essay that's due in next week! No big stress about it, it's not a long one, and it's nothing overly complicated; it's more about finding the impulse to sit down and bash it out really.
So after a good few weeks of pretty much shutting things off and getting by, it was a nice little surprise to be wandering back from the library, with a smile on my face and a good feeling inside. Ok, so the music that happened to be playing through my headphones contributed more than a small slice of that, but it was nice to feel that kind of buzz again. A short, unexpected phone-call just made that feeling grow a little too!
Ok, so it won't last indefinately since certain things rumble on, and I know now I won't do anywhere near as much tonight as this magic impulse makes me want to, but I'm happy enough to ignore that fact and just enjoy feeling back to something approaching 'normal' again ![]()

I'm not quite sure about that After all, education can certainly be seen as an investment, and as such can be a means to an end. Academics aside, it's a stage of things rather than the end-point. And as long as you genuinely love your end-point, or at least like it a whole lot, then it's worth slogging through parts which might be less enjoyable on the way.
