rant time!!!!!

whats happened to this world

you read articals ... hear stories on the radio of all these poor babies who feel badly done to because they didnt get the best start in life ... " we never went on holiday...boo wooo !!!!

"my lifes a mess because we didnt get easter eggs as a child ... all those things children should get we didnt ... oww how harsh our life has been"

wake up and smell the coffee people ... i brought my son up from birth alone after his father died ... and he is now 22 so i asked him tonight ...did going without damage you hun ... answer... NO... why ?? so we got into this

as far a he is concerned going without just made him work harder so he can get them now ...

and another point ...how would the parents feel seeing everything they tried to do for thier off spring thrown back at them because christmas wasnt the winter wonderland thier ungrateful offspring thought it should be???

i know how hard living was without worrying about extras ..and yes thats what these things are ...EXTRAS!!!

but at least i know i have brought up a useful member of society who understands the value of love and isnt materialistic... oww and i will never read a blog from him winging that his parents didnt try hard enough

i did it!!! ..i made a human being with feelings

Well said and congratulations to you on a damn hard job that was done very well. My daughter is 15 in 5 months and for the majority of her life it has been just me and her. It has been so very hard at times but she has always known that i love her, has never complained when she has had to go without and is now such a wonderful young woman who is grateful for everything she gets.

hear hear. I think you'll find those of us who truly had very little are grateful to parents like mine, and you, in a way the rich kids aren't.

I had little to nothing growing up, and a druggie dad. it only makes me more in awe of my mother's strength and more grateful for everything I earn. Spoiled people are a bit sad, and what's worse is how prevalent they are in this society.

In my case it is not children who whine but my mother! She was brought up during World War 2 with rationing etc etc and she has been complaining for the last 10 years about how soft we all have it today.

Cannot really answer her back because she has 'selective memory' so I just have to listen.
